Shots Fired: Round Counter

OTC MVP LLC (“we,” “our,” or “us”) operates the Shots Fired: Round Counter mobile application (the “App”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our App.
The short version: there is no account, and everything you log stays on your phone. Purchases go through Apple. Reminders are scheduled on your phone. The only thing the App can send on its own is a short list of anonymous usage events, and only if you turn that on.
1. Information We Collect
Information You Provide, Kept on Your Device
- Firearm profiles - names, types, calibers, photos, and configuration details you enter
- Session data - round counts, reloads, duration, distance, ammo cost, and notes you log
- Photos - target and firearm photos you choose to add
- Goals and maintenance records - goals, maintenance logs, and maintenance schedules you create
- Preferences - settings such as distance unit, counting mode, and mic sensitivity
- Pro trial start time - the moment your 7-day Pro trial began (see Section 3)
We never receive any of this. It is stored on your device only.
Information We Do Not Collect
- We do not require you to create an account
- We do not collect your name, email address, or any personally identifying information
- We do not collect your location or GPS data
- We do not record audio
- We do not track you across other apps or websites
2. How Your Data Is Stored
The App is designed as a local-first application. All data you enter - firearms, sessions, photos, goals, maintenance records, and preferences - is stored on your device using local device storage. There is no cloud copy and no sync service.
We do not transmit your firearms, sessions, photos, notes, or any other data you log to our servers. Your shooting data stays on your device. The only exception is the optional, anonymous usage analytics you can choose to turn on (see Section 10), which never includes any of your shooting data.
You can export a backup file from Settings → Export a backup. The file is created on your device and goes only where you send it through the iOS share sheet. It is not encrypted, so keep it somewhere private.
3. In-App Purchases and the Pro Trial
Purchases
The App offers Shots Fired Pro in three ways, all through Apple’s App Store: a yearly subscription, a monthly subscription, and a one-time lifetime purchase that never renews. Purchase status is handled by RevenueCat. When you buy or restore Pro:
- Apple processes your payment and manages any subscription. Apple’s privacy policy applies to that transaction.
- RevenueCatverifies your purchase on our behalf, using an anonymous identifier and Apple’s purchase receipt rather than your name or email. RevenueCat’s privacy policy is available at revenuecat.com.
- We do not receive or store your payment card information.
- Your Pro status is cached on your device so the App works offline.
The 7-Day Pro Trial
Every new install gets 7 days of Pro. It needs no sign-up and no payment details, it is not an App Store free trial, and nothing is charged when it ends. The trial’s start time is stored only on your device and is not sent to us or to RevenueCat. Deleting all data in the App keeps the start time so the trial is not repeated; deleting the App removes it.
4. Microphone
If you choose to count rounds with the microphone, the App reads only the loudness level, about ten times a second, to detect shots. iOS requires a temporary audio file while the microphone is on; the App never reads it and deletes it when counting stops. No audio is recorded, kept, or sent anywhere. You can count by tap instead, and change microphone access at any time in your device’s Settings.
5. Reminders and Notifications
Reminders (cleaning due, scheduled maintenance, and goals falling behind) are local notifications, scheduled on your device by the App itself. They are not sent from a server, the App does not register for remote push notifications, and no notification token or reminder content ever leaves your device. The App asks for notification permission only when you set up something that can remind you, and you can turn notifications off at any time in your device’s Settings.

7. Children’s Privacy
The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at info@shotsfired.app and we will take steps to delete such information.
8. Data Security
Because your data is stored locally on your device, the security of your data depends on your device’s security settings. We recommend using your device’s built-in security features such as a passcode or biometric lock, and keeping exported backup files somewhere private.
9. Your Rights and Choices
Since we do not collect personally identifying information, there is no personal data held by us to access, correct, or delete. Your shooting data lives on your device. You can erase it at any time under Settings → Delete all data, which removes every firearm, session, goal, photo, setting, and scheduled reminder, or by deleting the App.
If you opted into anonymous usage analytics, you can withdraw that consent at any time under Settings → Share anonymous usage in the App. Because those analytics are anonymous and not linked to your identity, they cannot be traced back to you.

10. Analytics
In the App (Optional, Off by Default)
The App includes optional, anonymous product analytics that are off by default. You are asked during onboarding, and you can turn it on or off at any time under Settings → Share anonymous usage. Until you turn it on, nothing is sent and no identifier is created. When it is on, the App sends events to PostHog (United States), tied to a random identifier made on your device rather than to you. Person profiles and IP-based location are turned off. There is no automatic capture and no screen recording: the App sends only the events below, with only the details listed.

The gate is a short label for the screen or limit that opened the Pro screen, such as second_gun, locked_gun, second_goal, paused_goal, photo, schedule, history, earlier_months, import, trial_end, trial_card, or settings. Prices, payment details, and Apple account details are never included.
We use these events solely to understand which features are used and how the trial and Pro screen perform, so we can improve the App. They never include your firearms, session data, round counts, notes, photos, location, name, or any personally identifying information; they are not linked to your identity; they are not used for advertising; and they are never sold or shared. PostHog’s privacy policy is available at posthog.com/privacy.
On the Website
This website (shotsfired.app) uses Google Analytics to measure anonymous traffic - things like page views, visit duration, and general region. We use this solely to understand how visitors find and use our site. We do not collect names, email addresses, or any personally identifying information through the website, and we never sell or share visitor data.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
