No. Shots Fired is local-first - all your data (firearms, sessions, photos, maintenance history) is stored directly on your device. No sign-up, no login, no cloud account required. You can use the app fully offline at the range.
Yes. There's no account system, so there's no central database tying your identity to your shooting activity. Your firearms, sessions, and photos live on your phone, not on a server. The only thing that can ever leave your device is anonymous, opt-in usage analytics (off by default), which records only which features are used to help us improve the app, never your shooting data and never tied to you. See our Privacy Policy and Privacy Manifesto for the full details.
Only if you opt in, and only anonymously. Analytics are off by default. If you turn them on (during onboarding, or anytime in the app under Profile > Privacy), the app sends anonymous, aggregate usage events, like the fact that a range session was logged or that the upgrade screen was viewed. We use this for one reason: to see which features actually get used so we can improve the app and decide what to build next. It's tied to a random ID, never to you, and never includes your firearms, round counts, notes, photos, location, or name. It's never sold and never used for ads, and you can switch it off at any time.
Never, on Free or Pro. Shots Fired is funded by the optional Pro subscription, not by advertising or selling your data.
Yes - $2.99/month or $19.99/year, cancel anytime from your App Store account settings. A subscription (rather than ads or selling your data) is what funds continued development, updates, and support while keeping the app private and ad-free.
Yes, all three - plus revolvers, carbines, and PCCs, each with their own visual icon in your gun locker.
Free accounts get basic cleaning reminders based on rounds fired. Pro unlocks full maintenance scheduling - multiple maintenance types per firearm, each with its own interval and history.
Yes - both Free and Pro users can export a full backup of their data at any time.
Yes. Free accounts can import a backup containing one firearm. If your backup contains more than one firearm, you'll be prompted to upgrade to Pro to complete the import.
Not yet. iOS is the current focus; Android is planned after the iOS experience is fully refined.
